It is a hard task to write about Southampton. Talking about a city in details is mundanely boring when it comes to the trivial everyday life. I shall just give a few reasons why you won't regret chosing this city to be your home away from home:
Close proximity to London/Healthrow airport. About 1h+ train away.
Easy to travel in Southampton. 20 minutes to city centre from the Uni. 10 minutes to walk to the university from most halls of residence/privately rented houses.
A big campus with loads of greenery ensures the winter blues won't make you feel stressed. It is a luxury that the likes of Manchester Uni,Imperial College and LSE can't afford.
Had the warmest climate in Britain. A cold winter can cripple our ability to operate as normal, especially when the heater doesn't work .
You get all the benefits a city offer( big shopping centres etc.), yet this quaint student town can offer you the peacefulness and idyllic existence that we sometimes crave.
A strong and very supportive Vietnamese community. I am greatly impressed with how we deal with uncertainties in life, particularly when one of us was not well and regrettably had to take a year off...
Not too expensive compared to other English cities.
